TE-4200 Telephone Line Analyzer
The
TE-4200 single line telephone analyzer incorporates many features
to monitor the integrity of your phone line. This unit includes 3
visual status indicating L.E.D.s, a large easy to read 4.5 digit
LCD display with low battery indicator icon, dual-tone alarm, 3
user function switches, and 2 threshold adjustment controls, and
automatic mute circuitry.
The
TE-4200 tests your phone line for slight voltage and current
variations caused by possible parasitic R.F. radio transmitting
devices, telephone repair line powered handsets, off hook
extensions, or tampering of your phone line in your absence. This
unit will digitally display your phone line voltage readings
numerically both on and off hook, giving you a constant means of
checking line integrity. In addition to the digital display, the
Line Alert feature will monitor the phone line voltage when the
phone is in use. If it detects changes, it will alarm you by
lighting a red L.E.D. and alert tone.
The
TE-4200 also contains a complete Near-field R.F. transmitter
detection system capable of monitoring your phone line for
possible illegal radio transmitting devices up to 1,000 feet from
the source. It has a detection bandwidth of 1.495 Ghz and will
detect transmitting devices from 5 Mhz to 1.5 Ghz. When it
detects a transmitter, it will alarm you with a flashing L.E.D.
and pulsing alert tone. The TE-4200 has a 3-way alert tone which
allows you to distinguish the following types of alarm: R.F.
only; Line Alert changes; the combination of both.
The
TE-4200 safeguards your conversation with automatic mute
circuitry if your line becomes compromised by an external line
change. Only the phone plugged into the TE-4200 will go dead,
preventing you from communicating any further until the line
returns to normal. While you're away from the phone, the
Monitor-mode will check your phone line for the tampering of
wiring changes, open circuits, or a polarity reversal. When
changes occur, the green L.E.D. indicator will turn on and flash
indicating possible tampering and must be manually reset when you
return.
